In Irish Mythology, a Leprechaun is a male faerie associated with the Tuatha Dé Danann. Leprechauns in popular culture are known mainly as guardians of pots of gold hidden at the ends of rainbows. In Irish legend, they are mischievous creatures capble of changing form, often taking on that of old men. They are shoemakers who are said to have great wealth which they have buried in many places.
