Lemuria

Lemuria was reputedly a powerful civilization that was lost in ancient times. It was allegedly located in the Pacific, considered that ocean's equivalent of the Atlantic Ocean's Atlantis.

Lemuria was popularized in a series of books by James Churchward, who referred to it in the titles as simply Mu. He claimed that the history of the civilization went back 200,000 years, which would put it considerably before modern archaeology would credit such sophistication.
