Leela Savasta is an actress born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. Savasta studied at the University of British Columbia before taking some time to visit and explore India and New York City. She decided the pursue acting professionally and made her debut on Smallville as Gretchen. She has also made appearances on Masters of Horror, Stargate Atlantis and the ABC series Traveler.

In 2008, Savasta signed on to the recurring role of Captain Alison Porter on Stargate Atlantis. She makes her first appearance in the role in the season 5 premier "Search and Rescue". She previously appeared on the series in the minor role of Dr. Esposito. Also in 2008, Savasta began appearing on Battlestar Galactica in the role of Tracey Anne.
