Leslie Esdaile-Bank is an American author best known for her Vampire Huntress Legends (book series). Banks is the author of over thirty novels including crime/suspense thrillers and women's fiction written as Leslie Esdaile-Banks.
Banks is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania Wharton undergraduate program with a Master’s in Fine Arts from Temple University. She started out in corporate marketing and worked as an executive at Xerox, Hewlett Packard, and Digital Equipment Corporation for several years. She later parlayed her skills into a career as a marketing consultant.
Banks began writing fiction in 1992 under a variety of pseudonyms, L. A. Banks, Leslie Esdaile, Leslie E. Banks, Leslie Banks, and Leslie Esdaile Banks. In 2000, Banks won a contract with Paramount/Showtime in collaboration with Simon & Schuster/Pocketbooks to write a book series for the popular cable network television series, Soul Food. She has had great success with her vampire series for St. Martin's Press, and has contributed novellas to romance anthologies alongside other popular authors, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Amanda Ashley, and Lori Handeland.
In addition to her genre work, Banks has published a novelization of the film Scarface, Scarface The Beginning for DH Press. A sequel to that novel is underway.
