Kyle is the fictional main character of the series Kyle XY portrayed by Matt Dallas. Kyle is a boy, seemingly sixteen years of age who appeared naked in the forest covered in pink fluid with all the knowledge of a baby. He was discovered by a group of teens and taken to a juvenile correction center for indecent exposure. Kyle appeared unaware of even the most basic human functions and instincts such as, eating, speech, urinating and a host of common human emotions he has to learn to understand. Fortunately, he proved to be a quick learner.

Pscyhologist, Nicole Trager became interested in his case and took him into her home to live with her family. Settling in with his new family proved difficult however as the new family already had a teenage daughter, Lori and a son Josh and Nicole's husband was wary of letting his wife become attached to a boy who would eventually leave them. Attachment proved unavoidable given Kyle's innocence and genuine goodness, and even his strangeness.

Kyle also had to adjust to their friends and the social problems that came with high school as well as the first bite of romance. Kyle found himself attracted to his neighbor and fellow classmate, Amanda but was disappointed to learn she was already involved with someone else.

He learned to speak in single day and with every passing day revealed new skills but had no memory of who he was or where he came from. Making the mystery more complete are the strange events that surround him. Security guard Tom Foss displayed an unusual interest in him. Desperate for answers, Kyle began to research people and incidents that appeared connected to him such as the death of a professor from a nearby college whose face he recognized.

Kyle soon found himself targeted by mysterious individuals. A couple claiming to be his long lost parents from Connecticut appeared to claim him and take him home. Despite knowing this to be alive, he went with them and was taken to meet his elder lookalike, Adam Baylin.

Season 2

Adam Baylin is a seemingly wealthy man who was the sole successful result of several experiments in extending the gestation period of a human fetus in hopes of creating a more advanced human, based on Einstein's theories. Adam developed genius level intelligence as well as telekinetic abilities. He also developed new techniques for replicating his success by creating an artificial womb that ultimately housed Kyle/XY and a second, female subject, XX. The Zizyx corporation, who participated in the project, decided to terminate XY and it's unknown how Kyle managed to escape.

Baylin attempted to protect Kyle from Zyzyx, and the Trager family from any danger relating to Kyle by bringing him to his home. Despite this, Baylin was shot and killed by unseen agents but not before teaching Kyle to use his own telekinetic abilities. With the help of Tom Foss and another of Baylin's associates, he returned to the Tragers, inventing a lie about the death of his parents as a cover for where he'd been.

It was later discovered that at Zyzyxx, Kyle's mind was being used to process military strategies and other data. When it became clear Kyle was doing more than processing. He was learning and making ethical choices. Professor Kerns, a leader on the project attempted to terminate. Kyle remembers these events, having had access to the security cameras and computer files within the facility.

Abilities

The most unusual thing about Kyle is not his lack of a belly button. Kyle has an unusual ability to learn. He learned to speak in a single day and is able to solve highly complex equations without effort. He also displayed an ability to reproduce highly realistic images from memory using pixel-like dots of color. Kyle learned martial arts from watching TV and satellite repair from reading a manual. With help from Adam Baylin, Kyle uncovered other abilities, including telekinesis and the unusual ability to mentally walk through his memories. These abilities came with a price for Adam, resulting in physical disability. As a result Kyle has been warned to shore up his physical skills in order to compensate.
