Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Dawn Chenoweth (b. July 24, 1968, Broken arrow, Oklahoma) is an American Tony award-winning stage and screen actress and singer recognizable for her petite stature, bubbly personality and musical talents exhibited in her many Broadway musical appearances and on her albums Let Yourself Go and As I Am.

Chenoweth studied drama while attending Broken Arrow High School and attended Oklahoma City University where she earned her bachelor's degree in musical theater and a masters degree in opera performance. Chenoweth competed in the Miss Oklahoma pageant in 1991 and won first runner up and later won a "most talented up-and-coming singer" at the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. She turned down the accompanying scholarship to the Philadelphia Academy of Vocal Arts after earning a spot in an Off-Broadway production.

Chenoweth made her Broadway debut in Molière's Scapin and in 1997, won a Theatre World Award for her performance in the musical, Steel Pier. Her other stage appearances include You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown which earned her a Tony, Drama Desk, and a Outer Critics Circle Award, Epic Proportions, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, and Wicked.

Chenowth made her television movie debut in the miniseries Paramour and in 1999 appeared in an ABC production of Annie alongside Victor Garber and Kathy Bates. In 2001, she appeared in her own sitcom, the short-lived Kristin co-starring Jon Tenney. She later had a role on the drama series The West Wing. She took on her most prominent film role in the 1995 Nora Ephron film version of the sitcom Bewitched. She followed up with The Pink Panther, RV, guest appearances on Sesame Street, Stranger Than Fiction with Will Ferrell, Running with Scissors alongside Annette Bening, and the Christmas movie, Deck the Halls. She worked with Sesame Street again in 2006 for its Christmas special, A Sesame Street Christmas Carol.

In 2007, Chenoweth took on the role of Olive Snook in the ABC fantasy series Pushing Daisies. Her upcoming roles include Tinker Bell, Rapunzel, and Space Chimps.
