The Duras sisters, Lursa and B'Etor

Klingons are a humanoid alien race in the Star Trek universe. Klingons originate from the planet Qo'noS. They have an aggressive warrior culture with strong traditions and deep sense of pride in their history. Klingons are one of the major interstellar military powers in the galaxy.

There are a number of component races in the Klingon Empire. Klingons in the original series appeared very much like Earthlings. Starting with Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Klingons have been portrayed with a bony skull ridge.

Klingon is also the term for the language, although Klingon language is also used (as well as Klingonese, although there is some debate about whether or not that is the same lanquage). Following its appearance in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Mark Ocrand developed it into an actual language, and books can now be found that have been translated into Klingon.
