Klingon Language Institute

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

The Klingon Language Institute (KLI), founded in 1991, is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to facilitating the scholarly exploration of the Klingon language constructed for the Star Trek films by Marc Okrand.

Projects of the KLI include the Klingon Shakespeare Restoration Project, which, taking its cue from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), has as its goal the restoration of the complete works of William Shakespeare to the "original Klingon." One of the KLI's proudest accomplishments was the publication of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (The Restored Klingon Version) (1996, reissued as The Klingon Hamlet by Pocket Books, 2000).

KLI also publishes HolQeD, a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal.
