King Kong is a 2005 remake of the classic 1933 film King Kong. Peter Jackson, fresh of his Lord of the Rings success, directed and produced the film with writing partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.

Summary

Jack Black stars as Carl Denham, an ambitious filmmaker who needs a perfect location to finish his movie. He also needs a leading lady, a poor actress, Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts). Black engages Captain Englehorn to take them and playwright, Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) to the mysterious and feared Skull Island where the discover dangerous natives who worship a giant Ape. When the ape becomes smitten by Darrow, he kidnaps her. Driscoll, who has fallen for her, and the rest of the ship's crew must travel across an island filled with beasts long extinct in the rest of the world, in order to rescue her.
