Kevin Sorbo

Kevin David Sorbo (September 24, 1958) is an American actor born in Mound, Minnesota. He is best known for his role as Hercules on the series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Captain Dylan Hunt on the series Andromeda.

Sorbo excelled in high school sports and attended Moorhead State University where he continued to pursue athletics. He also took up modeling and spent three years traveling the world appearing in a variety of print ads and commercials. He eventually settled in Los Angeles to pursue film and television roles. Early appearances include minor roles on Santa Barbara, Cheers and The Commish.

In 1994, he starred as Hercules in a series of television movies that eventually led to his starring role on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. The series proved popular and launched a spin off series Xena: Warrior Princess on which he guest starred. His success led to his film debut as Kull in Kull the Conqueror.

When Hercules ended, Sorbo guest starred on several sitcoms including Just Shoot Me, Dharma & Greg and According to Jim. He also followed with the scifi series Andromeda in which he played heroic captain Dylan Hunt. Other notable appearances include the sequels to Walking Tall, Walking Tall 2 and Walking Tall 3, a recurring role on the FOX soap, The O.C., and the TV movies Last Chance Cafe, Something Beneath,and Avenging Angel.

On January 5,1998 he married actress Sam Jenkins,whom he met on the set of Hercules:The Legendary Journeys in 1996. They have three children.
