Kevin J. Anderson (b. March 27, 1962, Oregon Wisconsin) is a prolific American science fiction author. Anderson co-authored eight Dune prequels with Brian Herbert and has also written tie-in novels for Star Wars, The X-Files, Starcraft and Titan A.E.. He has also worked with best selling author Dean Koontz on Prodigal Son.
Biography
Born and raised in Oregon, Wisconsin, Anderson realized his love of fiction early . He wrote his first three page novel at eight on his father's typewriter about a mad scientist who invents a formula that can animate anything. He uses the formula to animate dinosaur skeletons to impress his colleagues.
He bought his own typewriter at ten from money earned doing chores and began working on his dream. He began submitting his stories to magazines in high school and after numerous rejections got his first acceptance. His first official novel, Resurrection, Inc. was published when he was 25.
Anderson worked as a technical writer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for twelve years. He met his wife, Rebecca Moesta, at the Livermore Lab as well as fellow author and collaborator, Doug Beason.
Anderson was a well published author when he was approached by Lucasfilm to write Star Wars novels.
