Kevin Michael Costner (b. January 18, 1955, Lynwood, California) is an Academy Award-winning American actor and director born to Bill and Sharon Costner, the youngest of their three children. Costner won two Oscars for best picture and best director for Dance with Wolves. He was also nominated for his performance as the lead actor in the film. Costner's genre roles include a guest role on Amazing Stories, and the films Field of Dreams, Waterworld, The Postman, and Dragonfly. Kostner is better known for his dramatic performances in films like Silverado, The Untouchables, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Wyatt Earp and Open Range.
In 2009, Costner will appear in the horror film The New Daughter.
