Kendra Shaw is a fictional character portrayed by Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen in the Battlestar Galactica: Razor special. Shaw was a colonial officer from the Ministry of Defense, assigned to the Battlestar Pegasus as an aide to Admiral Helena Cain just prior to the Cylon attack that wiped out the twelve colonies. Shaw is the daughter of Caprican quorum delegate, Marta Shaw, who died of cancer shortly before Kendra's posting to Pegasus. The posting was her first on a Battlestar.

Kendra became one of Cain's most trusted officers. Shortly after the Cylons attacked and destroyed the Scorpion Fleet Shipyards, Cylons came on board Pegasus. Kendra quickly realized the Cylons were in human form and Helena's love interest, Gina Inviere was one of them leading to Gina's imprisonment and abuse.

Cain saw potential to mold Shaw into her ideal officer and promoted her to Captain. When Pegasus came across a small fleet of civilian vessels, Cain ordered Shaw and other Pegasus officers to board the Scylla and strip it off valuable resources and personnel. Under Cain's orders, Shaw shot a civilian to encourage their obedience to Cain's orders. Several more civilians died that day and Shaw had difficulty dealing with her actions leading to her use of drugs to help her cope.

Following Cain's death at the hands of Gina, Shaw was the last officer true to Cain's legacy and was disliked by other Pegasus officers. Under the command of Barry Garner, she was demoted to kitchen duty. She later returned to the CIC under the command of Lee Adama as his XO and was promoted to Major.

Shaw gained a small measure of redemption on a mission to rescue a raptor crew of civilian scientists. Shaw lead a team of marines including officers Kara Thrace and Erin Mathias to a Cylon basestar to rescue the crew. In the process, she was severely injured and chose to stay behind and detonate a nuclear weapon to destroy the ship. Shortly before the bomb blew destroying the ship, she came across an early model cylon hybrid who recognized her and warned her that Kara Thrace would lead mankind to its end.
