Katharine Irene Kurtz (b. October 18, 1944) is an American author of fantasy fiction. Kurtz is best known for her Deryni novel series. She has been nominated three times for the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature for Deryni Rising (1971), Deryni Checkmate (1973), and High Deryni (1974).
