Kate Wilhelm (b. June 8, 1928, Toledo, Ohio) is an award-winning American author. Wilhelm has written in a number of genres, among them, fantasy, science fiction, suspense and speculative fiction. Wilhelm is the wife of author Damon Knight with whom she established the Clarion Writers Workshop and the Milford Writer's Workshop. Wilhelm is a resident of Eugene, Oregon
