Kate & Leopold is a 2001 romantic fantasy directed by James Mangold and written by Mangold based on a story by Steven Rogers. Meg Ryan stars as Kate McKay, who becomes convinced that Nineteenth century English lord, Leopold is an actor and casts him in commercials. She is unaware that Leopold has accidentally traveled through a hole in time to the twenty-first century after his curiosity leads him to follow Kate's brother Stuart (Liev Schreiber) who visited his time by the same means.
