Karl Lubinsky

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Karl Lubinsky is an investigative journalist in the television series Charlie Jade, who is played by Tyrone Benskin.

Character Bio

Lubinsky is North American-born, in his early 50s, an eccentric PhD in physics who makes a living as a freelance consultant. He writes about trans-universal phenomena and possible alien life for science periodicals, underground newspapers, and has his own website.

For 30 years, he has been collecting evidence to prove that the unexplained phenomena he's seen is not what the authorities say it is. He's convinced not only that the power structure in his world is designed to control the masses, but that it is saturated with alien beings from neighboring societies. No one has really taken him that seriously - there might have even been some doubt in his own mind - but that doubt vanished the minute he set eyes on Charlie Jade in the Karoo Desert.

Karl befriends a disoriented Charlie when he lands outside the 24 and a Half Hour Café and hires him to help him stay off the streets. In a small way, meeting Charlie is like a game or an adventure, but it turns horribly when Elliot Krogg, a top Vexcor scientist they are tailing turns up dead. This changes the rules for Karl in a way he never suspected or wanted. Up to then, everything he wrote about was theory, but as he gazes at Krogg's dead body, Karl realizes that he has entered a dangerous world. This is no theory.
