Karl Freund (January 16, 1890 – May 3, 1969) Czecholovakian-born German cinematographer and director who shot The Golem (1920), Der Januskopf (1920) and Metropolis (1926) before moving to Hollywood, where he photographed Dracula (1930) and Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932). His brief stint as a director encompassed two classic horror movies, The Mummy (1932) and Mad Love (1935), before he moved into television and created the multi-camera technique for shooting sit-coms such as I Love Lucy (1951-55).
