K. A. Applegate

Katherine Alice Applegate (b. 1956, Michigan) is an American author best known for her Animorphs series. Applegate is the credited author of several books in the animorphs series, however, several are ghostwritten. In 1997, Applegate won the Best New Children's Book Series from Publishers Weekly.
Applegate has written other books under several pen names. Under the name Katherine Kendall she has written Harlequin romance novels, other notable non-genre series include Ocean City, Girl Talk written as L. E. Blair, and Disney's Aladdin series.
