Justin Bethancourt is a native of New York City (b. March 18, 1971), and starred on the 1991 Junior College National Championship team at Nassau CC. He graduated with a degree in science and received a full ride to the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied biology. While attending school, he won the American Drug Free National Collegiate Powerlifting Championship. In 1995, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
In the late '90s, he entered into the fitness modeling arena, posing for covers
as well as writing for many publications.
Never one to sell himself out, he chose not to accept offers for reality type shows such as Battle Dome, Joe you know who and a slew of others. He has always stuck to his vision of developing into a real actor. In 2006, he went to Hollywood, and a casting studio picked him to play Wedge McDonald in Balls of Fury, where he acted across from Christopher Walken for the second time. In 2007, he landed a lead role in an HBO series.
He is now working with War Helm Publishing, playing Grimmric, one of many main characters found in the first Black Hammer Novel Despair (a Catskill Pictures Production).
