Jumanji is a 1995 fantasy adventure film directed by Joe Johnston and based on the children's book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg. The film features a magical board game which, when played, causes jungle creatures to appear. The film was a special effects bonanza which featured computer graphics and animatronics from Industrial Light and Magic, bringing to life an array of realistic animal and fantastic creatures. Robin Williams starred as Alan Parrish, a man trapped inside the game for twenty-six years. He is released when two children, Judy (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter Shepherd (Bradley Pierce) play the game. While playing the kids release a horde of animals and other dangers including the hunter Van Pelt. They overrun the town and destroy their home and the only way to stop them is to finish the game.
