Julian Sands (b. January 4, 1958 in Otley, Yorkshire, England) is an English actor and a familiar face to horror fans. Sands attended Lord Wandsworth College in Hampshire and later the Forum Theatre Company and Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Sands made his film debut in the comedy Privates on Parade. He followed up with supporting roles in various British films and television. His role in the Oscar-winning drama, A Room with a View, earned him international attention and an entre into American film.
In 1986, he starred alongside Gabriel Byrne as Mary Shelley's lover in the horror drama Gothic. He appeared with Byrne again and also Ellen Barkin in 1987. In 1988, Sands appeared with Jeff Goldblum and Cyndi Lauper in the comedy Vibes. Other notable roles include Warlock, Arachnophobia, Warlock: The Armageddon, The Turn of the Screw, Witch Hunt, Biker Mice from Mars, The Tomorrow Man, Il Fantasma dell'opera, Rose Red, The Medallion, Romasanta, and Ring of the Nibelungs. In 2005 he guest starred on the series Stargate SG-1 as a Doci of The Ori. He also had recurring roles on the hit FOX series 24, Lifetime's Blood Ties, and Ghost Whisperer.
In 2007, he appeared in Ocean's Thirteen and he is slated to appear in the Stargate movie Stargate: The Ark of Truth, the series Lipstick Jungle and the movie Quantum Heist.
