Julia Roberts (October 28, 1967 Smyrna, Georgia - ) is an American actor.
Mainstream audiences got to know her in Mystic Pizza (1988), and she became a superstar with Pretty Woman (1990). In her first genre role, she worked along side Keifer Sutherland for director Joel Schumacher in Flatliners (1990). The near-death thriller would earn her a Saturn Award nomination.
In 1991, she played icon Tinkerbell in Steven Spielberg's Peter Pan movie, Hook.
It was a very different role for her in Stephen Frears' Mary Reilly. The dark drama focused on her character, a maid involved with Dr. Jekyll (John Malkovich). The movie was not her highest grosser, and some critics suggested audiences liked her better when she smiled more.
She would win a Best Actress Oscar in 2000 for the biopic, Erin Brockovich.
In an odd coincidence, she would voice two invertebrates in the year 2006. She was Hova in Ant Bully, and Charlotte in Charlotte's Web with Dakota Fanning.
