Journey to the Center of the Earth, originally published in French as Voyage au centre de la Terre, is an 1864 novel by Jules Verne. The science fiction classic tells the tale of a professor who, along with his nephew and a hired guide, travel down an Icelandic volcano and into the center of the Earth where they discover prehistoric animals, and other natural dangers.
