Joshua Jackson (b. June 11, 1978, Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian-born actor who became well known to American audiences first in the movie The Mighty Ducks and later on the series Dawson's Creek. Jackson grew up in California before moving back to Canada at eleven when he began pursuing a career in acting. He made his film debut in the 1991 film Crooked Hearts and his genre film debut with Magic in the Water. He has since made several genre appearances. In a 1997 episode of The Outer Limits he portrayed a teen who discovers a transformative alien signal and followed up with the horror sequel Scream 2 and the teen features Urban Legend, Cruel Intentions and The Skulls.
Following the conclusion of Dawson's Creek Jackson met with difficulty finding prominent roles. He lent his voice to the film Racing Stripes and appeared with Christina Ricci in the werewolf horror movie, Cursed. In 2008 Jackson starred with Rachel Taylor in the film Shutter and was cast in the J. J. Abrams series Fringe.
