Josh Lucas Lucas Easy Dent Maurer (b. June 20, 1971, Little Rock, Arkansas) is an American actor who may be best known for his roles in Sweet Home Alabama, Stealth and Poseidon. Born to Don and Michelle Maurer, Lucas grew up traveling the south with activist parents and his three younger siblings. The family eventually settled in Gig Harbor, Washington and he graduated from Gig Harbor High School.

Lucas fell in love with acting, performing in high school plays and decided against college for a career in acting. He began his career guest starring on sitcoms and made his movie debut in the 1991 religious horror TV movie Child of Darkness, Child of Light. He has since appeared in a variety of roles, gaining attention opposite Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama and the Academy Award-winning film A Beautiful Mind. Other notable roles include Stephen King's Thinner, American Psycho with Christian Bale, Hulk, Secondhand Lions, Wonderland, Stealth, Glory Road and Poseidon.
