Jon Pertwee (July 7, 1919 – May 20, 1996) was a British comedy actor and the brother of playwright and screenwriter Michael (1916–1991). He is best remembered as the third incarnation of the Doctor on the BBC's long-running program Doctor Who (1970–1974), but he also appeared in such movies as Hammer’s The Ugly Duckling (1959), Carry on Screaming (1966), and The House That Dripped Blood (1970).
