John Wesley Shipp (b. January 22, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia) is an Emmy Award-winning American actor best known to genre fans for his performance in the short-lived 1990 television series The Flash as superhero Barry Allen. Shipp may also be a familiar face from the series Dawson's Creek on which he played Mitch Leery. His other notable roles include guest appearances on Fantasy Island, The Outer Limits and NYPD Blue, appearances on the soap operas The Guiding Light, As the World Turns all My Children, and Santa Barbara and the movies The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter, and Flash III: Deadly Nightshade.
