John D. Brancato is an American screenwriter who has contributed to several genre films and series. Brancato's early work includes the genre films Mindwarp, Watchers II, The Unborn, and Severed Ties. Brancato's best known work include the 1995 film The Net which starred Sandra Bullock. He also contributed to the spinoff series of the same name. In 2000, Brancato helped create the short-lived paranormal series The Others. Other notable work includes Aeon flux, The Game starring Michael Douglas, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Catwoman, Primeval, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins and The Surrogates.
