John August

John August (b. August 4, 1970, Boulder, Colorado) is an American screenwriter, producer and songwriter. August has worked on several popular genre films beginning with animated film Titan A.E. (2000). He followed up with the blockbuster Charlie's Angels and its sequel Charlies Angels: Full Throttle. In 2003, August wrote the screenplay of the Oscar-nominated fantasy Big Fish starring Ewan McGregor and directed by Tim Burton. The film was praised by critics and August worked with Burton again on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride. In 2007, he wrote and directed the horror drama The Nines and is currently working on Hancock and Shazam!. August also served as executive producer on the upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

As a songwriter, august contributed lyrics to the movies Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride.
