Jimmy Palmiotti is a writer and award-winning character creator with experience in advertising, production, editorial, film-writing, development and production, media presentation, and video game development. His clients include Nike, Nickelodeon, Disney, Warner Brothers, Lion's Gate, Vidmark, Starz, Fox Atomic, Alliance Films, New Line, 2kgames, Activision, and THQ Games.
As the co-founder of such companies as Event Comics, Black Bull Media, Marvel Knights (a division of Marvel Comics), and Paperfilms, Palmiotti has participated in creating numerous universes, series, and characters including the New West, Monolith, 21 Down, The Resistance, The Pro, Gatecrasher, Beautiful Killer, Ash, Cloudburst, Trigger Girl 6, Thrill Seeker, The Twilight Experiment, and Painkiller Jane.
His work in comics includes:
- DC Comics: Jonah Hex, J.L.A. Classified, Superboy, Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters, Crisis Aftermath: The Battle for Bludhaven, Hawkman, Superman, Terra, Supergirl, The Spirit, and Countdown (a weekly series featuring hundreds of characters).
- Marvel Comics: The Punisher, Deadpool, X-Men, Daughters of the Dragon, Heroes for Hire, Claws featuring Wolverine and Black Cat, Shanna the She Devil, Kid Colt, and Arizona Annie.
- Wildstorm: 21 Down, the Resistance, Midnighter, The Twilight Experiment, and Friday the 13th.
- Other companies: Cloudburst and The Pro for Image, Chastity for Chaos Comics, Painkiller Jane and Red Sonja for Dynamite Comics, Vampirella for Harris, and Conan for Dark Horse.
His work in videogames includes The Punisher for THQ Games, and Ghost Rider for Take 2 Games. He bridged the gap between X-Men Legends and Legends 2 for Activision.
For DVD, Palmiotti wrote and created Blade 3, a 22-page insert that created backstory for Whistler’s Daughter, featured in the movie. He also wrote a 22-page insert for The Punisher that explained the pre-story before the movie; and, for X-Men, a 22-page book that bridges the gap between X-Men Legends and Legends 2, which was inserted in the videogame for Activision.
The Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning is a graphic novel that Palmiotti wrote and developed that depicts the backstory for the three feature films. He also developed and wrote two animated shorts for Nike, one on Lebrone James, and the other for Vince Carter.
