The Jim Henson Company is an entertainment company recognized for its innovation in puppetry, animatronics, and computer graphics. Originally known as Muppets, Inc., and later Henson Associates (ha!) and Jim Henson Productions, the company, founded by Jim Henson, is best known for having created the Muppets, now owned by The Walt Disney Company. The company has won over 50 Emmy Awards and Nine Grammy Awards for its work. The company headquarters are located in Los Angeles which is also home to Jim Henson's Creature Shop, a visual effects group that has had it's hand in international film, television and advertising. The company once had a television distribution arm, the short-lived Henson International Television which was sold to HT Entertainment. Also on the lot are the Henson Recording Studios known for it's combination of vintage and modern state of the art equipment.
