Jeph Loeb

Jeph Loeb (January 29, 1958, Stamford, Connecticut) is an American comic book writer, screenwriter and producer. Loeb became interesting comics as a child. He attended Columbia University, where he earned his Bachelor of arts degree and later received his Master's degree in Film. Loeb's greatest influence as a comic book writer Elliot Maggin. Loeb would acheive his own comic greatness working with Marvel and DC Comics writing for such well known characters as Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and the X-Men. He has won the Eisner award four times and is also a five-time Wizard Award winner.

Loeb may be best known for his work with Tim Sale on Batman: Year One and other Batman stories Batman: The Dark Victory and the Superman story Superman for All Seasons. Loeb completed Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America in 2007. The funeral of the American comic hero made headlines and was covered by news outlets.

In the realm of television, Loeb has worked as a supervising producer and writer on the series Smallville and Lost and is also an executive producer of the NBC series Heroes. Loeb left Smallville after its fourth season. He made his film, screenwriting debut in 1985 withe action comedy Teen Wolf starring Michael J. Fox he also wrote the sequel Teen Wolf Too. Loeb also provided the story for the 1985 Arnold Schwarzenegger action feature Commando.
