Jeffrey Hunter (November 25, 1926 New Orleans, Louisiana - May 27, 1969) was an American actor.

Hi is best known today to Sci Fi fans for his performance as Captain Christopher Pike in the original Star Trek pilot, substantial portions of which were reused in The Menagerie (Star Trek episode). However, he also appeared (even starred) in a couple of Sci Fi films, albeit ones which have not had the cultural impact of Star Trek.
