James Darren <span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>  James Darren (June 8, 1936 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - ) is an American actor. He first came to prominence for mainstream audiences as Moondoggie to Sandra Dee's Gidget. Genre audiences probably associate him most with the roles of time traveling Dr. Tony Newman from The Time Tunnel and the holographic crooner, Vic Fontaine, from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Less well-known is his work as a director, notably on Frank Lupo's Werewolf (TV series).
