Jack Palance

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Jack Palance (Vladimir Palanuik) (February 18, 1920 - November 10, 2006) is a rugged American actor, nominated for an Academy Award for his role as the steely-eyed killer in Shane (1953). His subsequent career was uneven and included playing Jack the Ripper in Man in the Attic (1953), the title roles in TV’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1967) and an impressive performance as the Count in a TV version of Dracula (1973). His other, less impressive, genre credits include Torture Garden (1967), Craze (1974), Welcome to Blood City (1977), The Shape of Things to Come (1980), Without Warning (1980), Hawk the Slayer (1980), and Alone in the Dark (1982). An Academy Award for his supporting role in City Slickers (1991) briefly revived his box-office value. On television, he hosted Ripley's Believe It Or Not (1982-1986, rerun on the SciFi Channel until 1999). The first season episodes cost over a million dollars each and allowed him to use his distinctive voice to maximum, macabre, effect.

It's usually best to give a very general overview first, then specific details. When including the plot or essential details of a story in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
