Italy, officially the Italian Republic, is a boot-shaped country in south central Europe. It is comprised of the Italian Peninsula, and the islands Sicily and Sardinia. Italy is bordered by France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. Also within its borders are the independent nations of San Marino and Vatican City.

Well-known Italians include Monica Belucci, Isabella Rosellini, and Mario Bava.
