Ireland is the third largest European island. It lies off the eastern coast of Great Britain. Ireland is politically divided into the sovereign state, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom. It is the birthplace of author Caitlín R. Kiernan, and actors Pierce Brosnan and Colm Meany.
