Inuyasha is a manga series authored by Rumiko Takahashi and published by Shogakukan. The series became an anime which aired on Animax and Nippon TV from October 16, 2000 to September 13, 2004. Four movies were also produced: Inuyasha the Movie: Affections Touching across Time, InuYasha the Movie: Fire on the Mystic Island, InuYasha the Movie: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass and InuYasha the Movie: Swords of an Honorable Ruler.

Premise

A teenage girl, Kagome Higurashi, is the reincarnation of an ancient priestess, Kikyo, guardian of the sacred Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls). Kikyo sealed away the the half demon Inuyasha for attempting to steal the jewel to become fully demon. Kagome is drawn back in time, fifty years after Kikyo's death and accidentally frees Inuyasha and shatters the jewel. The two must work together to find the pieces before they fall into the wrong hands.
