Interview With the Vampire is a vampire novel by Anne Rice written in 1973 and first published in 1976. The story focused on the transformation of Louis de Pointe du Lac into a vampire by the French vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. The story is the first in a series of novels that became known as the Vampire Chronicles. The book was adapted for the screen in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles in 1994.
