Illinois is a state in the United States. It is the most populous and diverse midwestern stated. Illinois' capital is Springfield but it's most well known and largest city is Chicago, also the largest city in the midwest. As is the case with any state with a large, metropolitan area, Illinois has a sizable entertainment industry and has been home to many actors, musicians and entertainers..

It is the birthplace of Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig of Star Trek. Although born is Scotland, John Barrowman of Doctor Who and Torchwood lived in Joliet from the age of nine and attended high school there.
