Ian Wolfe (November 4, 1896 Canton, Illinois — January 23, 1992) was a dependable American character actor who appeared in more than 200 movies in a career spanning seven decades, often playing fussy or officious little men in such films as The Raven (1935), Mad Love (1935), On Borrowed Time (1939), The Return of Dr. X (1939), Sherlock Holmes Faces Death (1943), Flesh and Fantasy (1943), Murder in the Blue Room (1944), The Pearl of Death (1944), The Scarlet Claw (1944), The Invisible Man’s Revenge (1944), The Brighton Strangler (1945), Zombies on Broadway (1945), Bedlam (1946), Dressed to Kill (1946), The Lost World (1960), The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm (1962), Diary of a Madman (1962), Games (1967), THX 1138 (1969), The Devil’s Daughter (1973), Homebodies (1973), The Terminal Man (1974), The New, Original Wonder Woman (1975), Mr. Sycamore (1975), Creator (1985), and Dick Tracy (1990). As “Tranquil” he was a regular on the TV Series Wizards and Warriors (1983).
