Human Nature is the title of an episode from the 2007 season of the long-running program Doctor Who. It first aired in the UK on May 29, 2007.

Synopsis

Part 1 of a 2-part story; John Smith, a teacher at a rural boys school in 1913, is having dreams about being an alien adventurer who calls himself the Doctor. But alas, all medical examination shows him to be completely human, if somewhat eccentric. So, why is the poor teacher being hunted by something distinctly not of this world?

Trivia

• Among other images, John Smith's journal contains drawings of a Dalek, several Cybermen, K-9, Rose and the Doctor's eighth incarnation (played by Paul McGann). The McGann image is the first reference to the 1996 made for TV movie to appear in the new series.

• John Smith says his parents names are Sydney and Verity, a sly reference to the program's creator, Sydney Newman, and original producer, Verity Lambert.
