Howard Chaykin (b. 1950, Newark, New Jersey) is an American writer and comics artist. Though born in New Jersey, Chaykin was raised in New York. He started his comics career working as a gofer for Gil Kane. He would later work for such notable comics artists and writers as Neal Adamas, Byron Preiss, and Gary Morrow.
Chaykin was instrumental in turning the Mutant X comics into a television series. Mutant X was not his first foray into television, he also contributed to the television series The Flash and related movies, The Setinel, Viper and Earth: Final Conflict.
