Holland is the common English reference to The Netherlands, a country in western Europe. However, Holland is a region within The Netherlands which also includes the Netherlands Antilles, and Aruba. Holland is comprised of North Holland and South Holland two of The Netherlands' twelve provinces.

The adjective is Dutch.

It is the birthplace of actors Nina Foch and Edward Van Sloan, and director Paul Verhoeven.
