History

Ando isn't quick to believe Hiro's story and jokingly calls him "Super Hiro" for buying into the X-Men comics he enjoys. Hiro tests his skills first by teleporting into a ladies bathroom which gets him thrown out. he later teleports himself to Times Square in Manhattan. There he comes across a comic book by artist Isaac Mendez. Hiro is shocked to find out that the comic documents the events of his life since the discovery of his super power. He visits Mendez' home but finds himself in the midst of a horrific crime scene. Mendez and several others have been killed. Hiro is caught with the murder weapon in hand by New York police and arrested. When questioned, he informs them of his teleportation. They call Ando in Japan to confirm his story but Ando tells them Hiro has been missing for five weeks. He has teleported himself several weeks into the future. Shocked at this surprising turn, he is even more surprised when he looks out the window and witnesses the destruction of the city. He quickly teleports himself away and finds himself back where he began with a horrifying knowledge of the future.

With Mendez' comic as a guide. Hiro and Ando travel to the United States with a mission to save the world. They follow the comic plot which leads them to Las Vegas where Hiro reluctantly uses his gifts to gamble which gets them into trouble with a few unsavory characters. Dumped in the middle of the desert, he comes across congressional candidate Nathan Petrelli who gives him a ride back to Vegas. After a brief falling out with Ando, the two reunite and successfully contact Mendez. Peter Petrelli delivers a message to Hiro given to him by a future Hiro who visited him with a message to help them save the world.

When Ando and Hiro become witness to devastating murders, Hiro is torn by his choice to hide instead of using his ability to help. He questions whether he is truly a Hiro but Ando reminds him he can't be a hero if he's dead and that maybe sometime in the future when he learns how, he can return and fix things.

At some time in the future, having failed to save the world as he wished and having lost Ando in the process, Hiro fights for justice with a sword he acquired from Mr. Linderman's collection. He becomes cynical because of his loss but continues to fight to protect those with abilities. After visiting this horrible future and witnessing his own death, Hiro returned to the present to kill the serial killer Sylar hoping to create a new future.

He was successful in his attack on Sylar but moments after plunging his sword into the serial killer he was transported back in time to ancient Japan.

Season 2

Hiro found himself in the year 1671 outside Kyoto Japan on the day of a solar eclipse. It was the time in which his hero, Takezo Kensei lived. Having been told stories of the hero who saved Japan from the warlord White Beard, Hiro had memorized all Kensei's amazing feats. When he met the real man however, he was surprised and disappointed. Kensei was an Englishman and far from a hero.

Hiro was determined to right history and force Kensei to be the Hiro he'd been told of all his life. Hiro discovered Kensei had regenerative abilities and the two joined forces to complete the historic tasks including saving the swordsmith as Kensei had promised to the swordsmith's daughter, Yaeko.

Yaeko fell in love with Kensei unaware that many of the feats he accomplished were due to Hiro. When she realized the truth during the rescue of her father from Whitebeard's camp, she realized it was Hiro she loved. When Kensei witnessed them kissing however, he turned against Hiro and his cause and transferred his loyalty to White Beard. White Beard captured Hiro, Yaeko and her father and held them in his camp.

With Yaeko's help they were able to escape but Hiro was forced to return to the camp to destroy Whitebeard's store of guns and gunpowder which he would use to control the country. Hiro ran into Kensei and the two fought. With the gunpowder set to explode shortly, Hiro offered Kensei the opportunity to escape with him but Kensei refused and promised to lay waste to all Hiro loved.

Hiro escaped and reunited with Yaeko but knowing what Kensei might do was forced to leave her behind and return to the future. Back home in Japan, he was informed of his father's death at the hands of an unknown assailant. Unable to accept this fact, he went back in time to save him. However, his father convinced him against playing god and he let his father die but used his abilities to discover the identity of his murderer.

Kaito was murdered by Kensei. After some investigation, Hiro discovered Kensei now called himself Adam Monroe. Hiro traveled to 1977 to the Odessa, Texas Company facility where his father worked and discovered Adam attempted to release a virus that could wipe out 93% of the world's population.

Hiro returned to the present determined to kill Adam. He was prevented from doing so by Peter Petrelli who believed Adam was on the same mission as him, to destroy the virulent strain of Shanti virus. The two fought but Hiro eventually caught up with Adam. Rather than kill him however, he teleported him to an underground grave and left him there.

Powers

Hiro is arguably one of the most powerful people yet revealed on Heroes. not only can he freeze time for those around him, he can teleport through space and time. There is an implied limitation on his ability however. In "Hiros" it was implied that his jaunts through time may cause rifts.
