Her'ur, also called Har’wer and later Haroeris in the Greek era. Heru-ur translates to "Horus the Elder." In Stargate SG-1, he is the most ruthless of the Goa'uld System Lords. He is the son of Ra and Hathor, and the enemy of Apophis.

Heru'ur controlled the Horus-guards (Thor's Hammer,Thor's Chariot). His mother-ship was destroyed in the Tobin System when he was making an alliance with Apophis ("The Serpent's Venom"), killing him. Heru’ur controlled Juna (P3X-729) until SG-1 led a rebellion and defeated his Jaffa forces. After some time, Cronus arrived by ship and took control of the planet ("Double Jeopardy").

According to a few rare ancient texts, Heru'ur is the creator of the people of P3X-744 (Tegrea/Tagrea), however, only a few dare to believe in him. Tarek Solomon told Teal'c and Jonas Quinn that the legends say that Horus spoke them into existence. Teal'c said that after whatever resources Heru-ur sought had been exhausted on Tegrea, he abandoned them 300 years ago; ending their "dark-age" ("Memento").

Egyptian Myth

Horus is the son of Isis and Osiris, but Horus the Elder is said to be Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, and Seth’s brother (also said to be the twin-brother of Seth). He was one of the Egyptian Sky Gods and the God of Goodness and Light. He was also the God of Revenge, in which, Horus reaches maturity and avenges his father’s death. He and Seth were embroiled in a great battle, in which Heru-ur defeated Seth and became the first ruler of the united Upper and Lower Egypt. He is depicted as a man with a hawk/falcon head with his eyes being the sun and the moon. Additionally, the Pharaohs were believed to be the physical embodiment of him. Heru-ur was also worshiped as a son of Ra in Kom Ombo.
