Claire Bennet

Hayden Panettiere plays Claire Bennet, a young high school cheerleader who discovers she is indestructible. Claire at first worries she's alone and a freak but eventually discovers there are others with gifts though not all of them like her. Claire's survival is important to the survival of everyone on the planet.

Noah Bennet

Jack Coleman plays Mr. Bennet. He is the father of Claire Bennet and Lyle Bennet and the husband of Angela Bennet. Mr. Bennet has a secret life in which he seeks out people with special abilities and manipulates their memories with the help of his associates Eden McCain and The Hatian.

Elle Bishop

Kristen Bell plays Elle Bishop daughter of Bob Bishop. Elle is a sociopath with control over electricity. Raised within the company.


Monica Dawson

Dana Davis plays Monica Dawson, a cousin of Micah Sanders. Monica lost her mother in Hurricane Katrina and later displayed skills of adoptive muscle memory.

D.L. Hawkins

Leonard Roberts plays D.L., a former henchman for Mr. Linderman and Niki Sanders' husband. D.L. was framed by his wife's alter ego, Jessica, for the death of his crew. He escaped prison using his ability to walk through walls. When he discovered his wife framed him, he took his son Micah and ran. D.L. discovered his own inner hero becoming a firefighter only to die a senseless death.

Maya Herrera


See main article Maya Herrera Dania Ramirez plays Maya Herrera, twin sister of Alejandro Herrera. Maya produces a black substance from her eyes that kills everyone around her but her brother. Maya fell under the influence of serial killer Sylar and victim of her own naivety.



Isaac Mendez

Santiago Cabrera plays Isaac Mendez, a New York artist who discovered he could paint the future. He struggled with heroin addiction and the possibility that he may not be able to paint the future and save the world without drugs. He eventually overcame his addiction only to die at the hands of Sylar.

Matt Parkman

Greg Grunberg plays Officer Matt Parkman, a Los Angeles police officer with dyslexia. Matt is able to hear the thoughts of others, as well as project his own thoughts into the mind of others which can allow him to control them. He has been recruited by the FBI to help in the hunt for the serial killer Sylar.

Nathan Petrelli

Adrian Pasdar plays Nathan Petrelli, a New York congressional candidate with ties to mob boss, Mr. Linderman. Nathan is the son of Angela Petrelli and the brother of Peter Petrelli. Nathan discovered an ability to fly but refuses to use his ability to help others. Even though his ability saved his life, it contributed to his wife, Heidi's, paralysis. Nathan is determined to prevent his brother from making what he sees as a mistake in trying to be a hero.


Peter Petrelli

Milo Ventimiglia plays Peter Petrelli, son of Angela Petrelli and the brother of Nathan Petrelli. Peter is a New York hospice nurse who initially believes he can fly but soon discovers his ability is to mimic those of others. Even before discovering the full nature of his ability, Peter was determined to do what he had to save the world. After successfully intervening and saving Claire's life, Claire tells him he's her hero.


Hiro Nakamura

Masi Oka plays Hiro Nakamura, a young Japanese man who discovers he can manipulate time and space. He accidentally teleports himself into the future and witnesses a mass destruction. After returning to the present, he travels to the U.S. to stop it from happening.

Micah Sanders

Noah Gray-Cabey plays Micah, the young son of D.L. Hawkins and Niki Sanders. Micah has been revealed as technopath with ability to make broken machines work.

Niki Sanders/Jessica Sanders

Ali Larter plays Niki Sanders and her alter ego Jessica. Niki is the mother of Micah Sanders and the wife of D.L. Hawkins. Niki recently discovered she has a split personality. Her alter ego, Jessica, also the name of her twin sister who died when she was twelve, is ruthless and posseses superhuman strength. Jessica reveals that she took control of Niki's body and withstood their father's abuse, leaving Niki with no memory of the events.

Mohinder Suresh

Sendhil Ramamurthy plays Mohinder Suresh an Indian genetecist who, after hearing od the death of his father, Chandra Suresh, visits his apartment in New York. Despite differences of opinion in life, Mohinder eventually understands the validity of his father's work and decides to continue his research

Sandra Bennet

Ashley Crow plays Sandra Bennet Claire Bennet's adoptive mother. Mrs. Bennet has been trying without success to get her dog, Mister Muggles to win a dog show. Mr.s Bennet is unaware of anything odd going on with either her husband or her daughter as her husband has had her memory erased several times by The Haitian

Robert Bishop

Known for his first several episodes simply as "Bob", he is a management figure at Primatech (both the secret and public functions). He was Noah Bennet's boss and is Elle Bishop's father. He literally has the midas touch, being able to turn what he wants into gold. Mohinder Suresh also reported to Bob. Bob is played by Stephen Tobolowsky.

Claude


Played by Christopher Eccleston, Claude is a former employee of "The Company" and Mr. Bennet's former partner. Claude has powers of invisibility which he once had conscious control of. He has remained invisible since being shot by Bennet for hiding information on someone with abilities from the company. Claude lives in New York and was approached by Peter Petrelli who sought his help controlling his abilities.

Simone Deveaux

Tawny Cypress plays Simone Deveaux. She is the daughter of Charles Deveaux and the former girlfriend of artist Isaac Mendez. She operates a gallery in Manhattan where she sells Isaac's paintings.

The Haitian


Jimmy Jean-Louis plays The Haitian, a mysterious man who works with Mr. Bennet and Eden McCain. The Haitian seems to have the ability to erase specific memories and inhibit the powers of others with abilities. He has used his abilities on those Mr. Bennet has captured including, Eden, Matt Parkman, Theodore Sprague as well as members of Mr. Bennet's family, Sandra Bennet and Lyle Bennet. Though it seems Eden and Mr. Bennet believe the Haitian cannot speak he reveals that he can in the episode "Fallout" when he tells Claire Bennet that he won't make her forget, as ordered by her father, as it is necessary that she remembers. The Haitian wears a necklace with a pendant of the symbol that appears on Niki Sanders' shoulder when Jessica emerges.


Alejandro Herrera

Shalim Ortiz plays Alejandro, brother of Maya Herrera. Alejandro winds up on the run from the authorities throughout Central America after discovering his sister is cursed with the ability to kill others with her deadly secretions and only he can stop her. He is thwarted in his attempts to protect his sister when she mistakenly choses the serial killer Sylar as her guide. Her mistaken trust in the man they knew as Gabriel Gray ultimately leads to Alejandro's death.

Ando Masahashi

James Kyson Lee plays Ando Masahashi a close friend of Hiro Nakamura who joins him on his mission to save the world. Though initially skeptical about Hiro's abilities he comes to believe him. Though Hiro has assured him super powers aren't necessary to be a hero, Ando still doubts his usefulness.


Theodore Sprague

Matthew John Armstrong plays Ted Sprague, a man who came to Audrey Hanson's attention when she discovered his fingerprint on the body of a severely burned doctor. She believed he might be Sylar but soon discovered Ted accidentally killed the doctor (his wife's oncologist) when the doctor could do no more to help Ted's wife who was dying of cancer. Ted emits radiation from his body and accidentally poisoned his wife.

Sylar

Zachary Quinto plays the serial killer Sylar aka Gabriel Gray. Sylar was contacted by chandra Suresh who believed he may have special abilities. Sylar is able to percieve when things are broken and discern how to fix them. He gained his telekinetic ability after murdering Brian Davis, a man with that ability. Sylar roams the US seeking out special people and killing them in order to steal their abilities.

Minor Characters



Charlie Andrews

Jayma Mays plays Charlene "Charlie" Andrews, a waitress at the Burnt Toast Diner in Midland, Texas who discovers she has eidetic memory. She can learn and remember just about anything. Hiro Nakamura and Ando Masahashi visit the diner and Charlie exhibits her ability to quickly learn Japanese. Charlie is shortly killed by Sylar and her brain is removed.

Determined to save her, Hiro goes back in time to convince her not to go to work. She doesn't believe he's from the future. when Hiro makes 1,000 paper cranes appear out of nowhere and offers her tickets to Japan, Charlie reveals that she's dying. She has a blood clot in her brain. She also tells him that she loves him but as they are about to kiss, he uncontollably teleports back to Tokyo. He later discovers she was murdered and he is unable to change it.


Lyle Bennet

Randall Bentley plays Lyle Bennet, brother of Claire Bennet and son of Sandra Bennet and Mr. Bennet. Lyle discovers a tape documenting Claire's unusal healing abilities and freaks out. He eventually calms down when Claire explains that she doesn't want her parents to regret adopting her. He keeps her secret but later, when Claire reveals to her father all the people who know about her, Mr. Bennet has the memories of his discovery erased.

Charles Deveaux

Richard Roundtree plays Charles Deveaux father of Simone Deveaux and a terminally ill patient of Peter Petrelli. Charles thought of Peter like a son. Peter dreamed of Deveaux at the time of his death. Simone later told him that her father told him that he flew with Peter and Peter told him everything would be alright as there were Heroes who would save the world.


Meredith Gordon

Meredith Gordon

Played by Jessalyn Gilsig, Meredith is the biological mother of Claire Bennet. Meredith believed she had lost her daughter in an apartment fire when her daughter was eighteen months old. Claire later contacted Meredith hoping to discover where she'd gotten her abilities. Meredith revealed an ability to create fire with her bare hands. Meredith was involved with Nathan Petrelli, who is the father of her daughter, Claire. After meeting her daughter, she called him and easily accepted $100,000 in exchange for keeping their relationship and his daughter's existence a secret.

Audrey Hanson

Clea DuVall plays FBI Agent Audrey Hanson. She has been pursuing the serial killer Sylar. When Matt Parkman reveals an ability to hear other's thoughts she recruits him to help find Sylar.


Sanjog Iyer

Javin Reid plays a young Indian boy 'Sanjog Iyer who has the ability to enter people's dreams. Dr. Chandra Suresh kept a file on him in his office. After discovering the file, his son, Mohinder Suresh tracked down Sanjog. Sanjog helped him make the decision to return to the US and continue his father's work.


Mr. Linderman

Malcolm McDowell plays Mr. Daniel Linderman, an oft mentioned but rarely seen mobster connected to several major characters. Linderman sent his henchmen to collect on a loan he provided to Niki Sanders. To cover the loan, associates of Linderman blackmailed her into sleeping with Nathan Petrelli. Petrelli was in turn blackmailed into offering future aid to Linderman provided he win the congressional seat. Petrelli bargained for an additional $2 million donation to ensure his win.

Mr. Linderman bought one of Isaac Mendez's paintings from Simone Deveaux's gallery. Nathan requested the painting be returned as his brother had become attached to it. Linderman agreed and returned it.

It is revealed in the episode "Six Months Ago" that Nathan and Peter's father had connections to Linderman that would bring him down should they attempt to prosecute Linderman.

Aaron Malsky

Played by Kevin Chamberlain, Malsky is a protege of Mr. Linderman. Malsky was hired by Linderman to collect $2 million stolen from him by Jessica Sanders. Malsky also delivered news to Niki of her release from prison, due to a deal made with Linderman for her freedom. Malsky was later revealed to have stolen the $2 million and Jessica was sent to kill him. He was killed by Jessica shortly after having converted the money to diamonds and hiding it in the ceiling panels. The diamonds were retrieved by Matt Parkman.


Eden McCain

Nora Zehetner plays Eden McCain an associate of Mr. Bennet. After discovering her persuasive abilities, Eden misused them in a series of crimes. She was recruited by Mr. Bennet and assigned to keep an eye on Chandra Suresh. Mr. Bennet used her to manipulate other heroes he captured. They disagreed on the handling of Sylar and when he was brought in and imprisoned she attempted to force him to kill himself. Her attempts backfired and she was forced to kill herself to prevent him from gaining her abilities.


Thompson

Played by Eric Roberts, Thompson works for "The Company" a mysterious organization fronted by the Primatech Paper company. He is Mr. Bennet's superior and interviewed him for his current job. Thompson assigned Claude to work with Bennet. The character first appeared in the graphic novel: How Do You Stop an Exploding Man Pt. 2.

Tom McHenry

Tom McHenry was once Matt Parkman's partner before he was promoted. Tom had an affair with Matt's wife Janice. When Matt discovered the affair after overhearing Tom's thoughts he punched Tom and was suspended without pay for his actions.


Caitlin McKenna

Katie Carr] plays Caitlin McKenna and Irish woman working at the Wandering Rocks Pub when she met amnesiac Peter Petrelli. Peter's entrance into her life proved tragic. Her brother was murdered and she was transported and abandoned in a future where a virus had wiped out 93% of the world's population.

Brody Mitchum

Matt Lanter plays Brody Mitchum the quarterback on the Union Wells High School football team. Claire Bennet had a crush on Brody and the two wandered off together while at a bonfire celebration. Brody attempted to rape Claire and in the struggle she was killed. He dumped her body and was stunned to find her alive the next day. Claire pretended she didn't remember claiming to have drank too much.

When Claire discovers he raped at least one other girl, she convinces him to give her a ride home. He agrees to let her drive and she takes her revenge by driving them both into a brick wall. An uninjured Claire managed to drag his body to safety before the car exploded. Later, at the hospital, Claire reveals what happened to her father. Mr. Bennet is extremely angry but decides to give Brody a chance to start over. He has his associate, The Haitian, wipe Brody's memory completely.

Kaito Nakamura


George Takei plays Kaito Nakamura, a Japanese businessman and father of Hiro Nakamura. Nakamura disapproved of his son's leaving his job to go to America to save the world and demanded he return to Japan to fulfill his duty as his heir. Nakamura also has a daughter, Kimiko. Hiro led him to realize Kimiko would be a better choice to run the company. Nakamura is a behind the scenes player and operates withing the same company for which Mr. Linderman works. He ordered Linderman to adopt the baby Claire Bennet found after they tried to bring in fire starter Meredith Gordon.


Kimiko Nakamura

Played by Saemi Nakamura, Kimiko is the daughter of Kaito Nakamura and older sister of Hiro Nakamura. An intelligent woman, she works for Yamagato Industries. Though her father initially selected Hiro to be his successor, Hiro led him to realize Kimiko was the better choice.

Janice Parkman


Elizabeth Lackey plays Janice Parkman the wife of officer Matt Parkman. Janice and Matt have been having problems in their marriage. Janice believes her success in the face of Matt's inability to pass the Detective's exam has made him jealous and bitter. It is later revealed that Janice had an affair with Matt's former partner, Tom McHenry. Matt eventually revealed his abilities to Janice who dealt with the stunning revelation remarkably well. She revealed to him that she was pregnant and both were happy about the new addition to the family. Matt later discovered the baby was Tom's and the two divorced.


Maury Parkman

Alan Blumenfeld plays 'Maury Parkman the father of Matt Parkman. Maury has telepathic abilities that allow him to read minds, manipulate perceptions, enter dreams and control others. He worked with Adam Monroe in murdering the other members of the company before he was incapacitated by his own son.


Angela Petrelli

Christine Rose plays Angela Petrelli, the mother of Peter and Nathan Petrelli. In the premier episode, "Genesis", Angela was arrested for shoplifting, one of a series of odd behaviors she has adopted since the death of her husband.

Heidi Petrelli

Rena Sofer plays Heidi Petrelli the wife of Nathan Petrelli. Heidi was paralyzed in an accident in which her husband was driving. They were run off the road by Mr. Linderman's henchmen. Nathan managed to escape when he unexpectedly finds himself flying but the car careened out of conrol into the highway divider.

Since the accident, Heidi has been maintaining a low profile to avoid weakening her husband's public image. When her mother-in-law invites a journalist for brunch, the journalist questions Nathan about a blonde woman he was seen with. Peter created a cover story for Nathan saying he was only trying to seek out a doctor to help with Peter's mental problems.

Heidi doubted the story and asks Nathan to confirm. She tells him she wants to recover and walk again but only if he can promise her things will be as they were. Nathan lies and confirms the story.


Victoria Pratt

Joanna Cassidy plays Victoria Pratt. One of the original members of the company, Pratt worked as a scientist at the company's New York facility. Pratt worked on creating new strains of the Shanti Virus with the intention of creating a strain able to remove the abilities of "heroes". One strain proved deadly and virulent defying her warnings the company decided to keep the strain and Victoria quit her work. She was killed by Adam Monroe.

Hal Sanders

Graham Beckel plays Hal Sanders father of Niki and Jessica Sanders. Hal is an alcoholic who abused both girls when they were younger. Jessica eventually died at his hand. Niki has lost memory of all the negatives only knowing her father left them.

Hal attempted to reconnect with Niki and offered money she and her husband needed to help raise their son, Micah. He fell back into his short tempered mode when he discovered Micah taking a part a computer he'd given him as a gift. He stormed out of their home believing he shouldn't have come. Later, Jessica, Niki's alter ego visits him and throws him up against the wall. She returns the money he offered and told him never to come back.

Chandra Suresh

Erick Avari plays Dr. Chandra Suresh the father of Mohinder Suresh. Chandra is a genetecist and the author of the book Activating Evolution which explains why certain people are developing superhuman abilities. Suresh was killed by Sylar.

Shanti Suresh

Shanti Suresh is the deceased daughter of Chandra Suresh. She died at age five having suffered an unknown illness. Shanti had a genetic anomaly which in part inspired Suresh's research.

Molly Walker

Played by Adair Tishler Molly is a young girl whose parents were killed by the serial killer Sylar. She was found in a closet in her home where she'd hid during the attack, by officer Matt Parkman. He came to her rescue again when Sylar made a second attempt to kill her while she was in FBI custody.

Molly was later taken into custody by "The Company" who used her special ability to find anyone just by thinking about them to track people with special abilities. Molly was unable to control her ability when she fell ill with a virus "The Company" was unable to cure. The virus was the same one suffered by Shanti Suresh. Mohinder Suresh was able to cure her using antibodies for the virus found in his own blood.

Mohinder also protected Molly when Mr. Bennet tracked her down with the intention of killing her in order to protect his daughter and others like her from being tracked by The Company. Molly later revealed that there is a Boogeyman worse than Sylar whom she's afraid to locate because when she thinks about him, he can see her.

Jackie Wilcox

Danielle Savre plays Jackie Wilcox a Union Wells High School cheerleader and former friend of Claire Bennet. The two were initially friends but she became jealous of Claire and Brody Mitchum's interest in her. Jackie is mean spirited and gossipy. When Claire did not step up to lay claim to the heroic rescue of a man trapped by a train fire, Jackie claimed she was the hero and basked in the praise.

Later, when Claire befriended unpopular Zach and disabled Brody, she allied the other cheerleaders against her. Jackie was killed by Sylar who mistook her for Claire after reading about her heroic rescue.

Candice Wilmer

Missy Peregrym plays Candice Wilmer an employee of "The Company". Candice was assigned to be Mr. Bennet's partner. She appears to have the ability to warp reality around her and create the illusion that she is someone else. The illusion is complete with vocal abilities. Missy imitated Simone Deveaux to protect isaac Mendez. She also imitated Sandra Bennet. She was also able to mimic Niki Sanders and cause her son, Micah to experience a distorted sense of reality.

Tina

Deirdre Quinn plays Texas Tina a friend of Niki Sanders. Tina is an alcoholic and attends meetings with Niki. Niki confided her problems with her blackouts to Tina but Tina neither understood nor believed her. Tina met Niki's alter-ego, Jessica, after she visited Niki following her fight with D.L. and Niki told her that D.L took Micah. Jessica appeared shortly after scaring Tina.

Zach

Thomas Dekker plays Zach a classmate of Claire Bennet. Claire and Zach were once friends but parted after the sixth grade when she became popular. Claire recruits Zach to film her suicidal attempts which ultimately prove she is truly invincible. Though Claire believes herself a freak, Zach is much more positive about what he sees as merely being different.

Zach gave Claire a copy of Chandra Suresh's book which details her ability. Claire is overwhelmed by his generosity particularly since she hasn't been as good a friend to him. When Jackie makes rude comments regarding Zach's sexuality, Claire retaliates by punching her in the face.

Later, after Claire reveals to her father that Zach knew about her abilities, he has the Haitian erase his memories. When Claire spoke to him, he believed she hadn't spoken to him since the sixth grade.
