Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is the 2008 sequel to the 2004 film Hellboy based on the Mike Mignola comic book characters. Guillermo del Toro returns as the film's director. Ron Perlman also reprises his role as Hellboy and Selma Blair, her role as Liz Sherman. Also returning is Doug Jones as Abe Sapien, and Luke Goss joins the cast as Prince Nuada. In this edition, the world of mythical creatures rises up against humanity in a fight for rule of Earth. Hellboy and his team are tasked with saving the world from war and protecting a princess.
The sequel was being produced by Revolution Studios by producers Lawrence Gordon and Mike Richardson. When Revolution Studios became defunct, Universal Pictures took over the project. The movie is filmed in London and Budapest.
