Description

Even less known about than the frequently encountered Cylon Raider, the Heavy Raider is a craft that has only been seen recently during Cylon attacks. The bulky Heavy Raider is primarily used by the Cylons for assault or boarding missions. With eight relatively small sublight thrusters pushing it along, the Heavy Raider is a sluggish vessel because of its size, sporting poor maneuverability and speed that make it unfit for combating enemy fighters directly. Even so, the Heavy Raider is capable of delivering a punishing barrage of fire with a six-barreled projectile cannon. Heavy Raiders are also known to carry guided ordinance.

  • Heavy Armor: Cylon Heavy Raiders are layered in thick armor capable of resisting even the heaviest of anti-fighter suppression fire.
  • Cockpit: In addition to having a regular cockpit, the Heavy Raider has a "head" simillar to that of a standard Raider offset to the right of forward chassis. Because of this, it is believed that it is also autonomous.
  • Troop Carrier: The Heavy Raider has a protected hold near its rear which can carry up to ten Centurions for boarding missions.
